Here is the honest picture, because we drive these roads and will not pretend otherwise. The Trans-Flores highway is fully sealed and driveable end to end, but it is a mountain road: constant curves, blind bends, the occasional pothole, and long stretches where you average 30–40 km/h, not 80. Labuan Bajo to Maumere is about 510 km, yet it takes five real driving legs and most people split it over several days.

To set expectations by leg: Labuan Bajo to Ruteng is about 130 km but a solid four hours of climbing curves; Ruteng to Bajawa another 135 km and four hours; Bajawa to Ende drops to roughly 95 km in two and a half hours; Ende to Moni is a short, pretty 50 km in about an hour and a half; and Moni to Maumere is 95 km in around three hours down to the coast.
